About

Depending on how our paths have crossed, you may know me as an Educator or UX Designer.

The truth is, I am both.

I believe deeply in elevating and including all perspectives in order for our world to thrive, especially amplifying voices that have long been silenced.

Over the past decade, I taught generations of students in Washington, D.C. In our classroom, I was known for fostering mentorships , igniting creative problem-solving, and engaging students in conceptual debates. Outside of our classroom, I guided educators in Professional Development and launched youth-led initiatives such as The Bridge, a District-wide Design Thinking Fellowship where students created a large scale event to unite and heal the school community in the face of gun violence.

In the Fall of 2020, I founded E Squared Labs LLC, a design-driven consulting business, in order to support youth, social impact organizations, and businesses design structures and content that intentionally advance equity and empathy. My commitment to empathy and equity is personal, as my core values and the stories of my students drive me to design game-changing solutions.

During the pandemic, I ventured into the world of UX Design. Why? My past experiences have led me to this distinct intersection. I had already been designing learning experiences and leading Design Thinking Labs for/with everyone from parents to youth to educators to entire communities. In any context, I aim to uncover what is at the root of a given problem or opportunity. I nerd out on research synthesis, finding patterns from data, and crystalizing insights. As a UX Designer, I get to do that every day, while designing digital platforms that have the capacity to empower users beyond their devices.

I hold a certification in User Experience Design from General Assembly, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania,  a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Boston University, as well as my K-12 Teaching Certification from George Mason University and a Design Thinking Certification from Stanford University’s d.school. I was recognized for my impact by receiving the international Phyllis and Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Award, district-wide Highly Effective Teacher Awards.

More important than the accolades or educational institutions, I am fueled by faith in my purpose and by close family, friends, and mentors that inspire me to leap and soar.

The journey continues…

With gratitude,

Gabby

I currently reside in Reston, Virginia with the sweetest pups there ever could be, Mika and Ellie (pictured here), as well as their besties Bearnard and Robi. During time away from the screen, you can likely find me cozy and comfy with my partner and our pups, watching a good show, or on a fun adventure. You may also find me spending time with family, shooting hoops, or creating art or poetry.

I am open to working remotely or moving for the right job.
